| Virtually Stops Surfaces from Raveling |
When the asphalt binder loses its ability to properly bond with the aggregate, it is called raveling or aggregate break-out. Hawk-Seal-E has proven its ability to virtually stop this process on both asphalt and chip seal surfaces.
This parking surface was over 15-years old and used daily by furniture delivery trucks. The surface was undergoing very severe raveling (aggregate break-out) but fortunately there were no base failures. The owners were sweeping away loose gravel every day but did not want the expense of an overlay.
Prior to the Hawk-Seal-E treatment, all loose gravel was removed from the asphalt surface. The owner reported that immediately after sealing, the raveling problem was solved.
